It was April when you came
The first time to me,
And my first look in your eyes
Was like my first look at the sea.

We have been together
Four Aprils now
Watching for the green
On the swaying willow bough;

Yet whenever I turn
To your gray eyes over me,
It is as though I looked
For the first time at the sea.

    I think this is a wonderful poem. It tell us that when she met him for the 1st time that it was love at first sight! Then later in the poem she tells us that although she has been with this same man for some time that each time she looks at him she falls in love all over again. To be that is a very romantic poem. It reminds me of my fiance and our relationship. This is such a wonderful poem!
