For each ecstatic instant
We must an anguish pay
In keen and quivering ration
To the ecstasy.

For each beloved hour
Sharp pittances of years —
Bitter contested farthings —
And Coffers heaped with Tears!

  1. Anne Liu says:

Happiness always goes with misery. You cannot obtain what you are longing for until you have experienced some miserable processes.

  2. shimon weinroth says:

    for each moment of ecstasy
    too many of despair
    far and in between
    happiness does repair

    without compaqre
    emotions of nature rare
    are interred with
    memories miserly and spare

alas her understanding of relativity apt but too pessimistic in light of her biography her poetry is consistent and sad

    shimon weinroth
