If this is “fading”
Oh let me immediately “fade”!
If this is “dying”
Bury me, in such a shroud of red!
If this is “sleep,”
On such a night
How proud to shut the eye!
Good Evening, gentle Fellow men!
Peacock presumes to die!

Very sad but good I loved it She inspires me to be a good poet

This poem is about dying and how it’s better to go fast thatn to suffer and deal with pain. And emily shows great dignity when she talks about being proud to go and then following with a good bye. The line peacock presumes to die is a bit odd, unless your refering to your self as being the peacock, and wanting to leave and die.
