HDMI combines both audio and video into one convenient cable, so it's all you need to connect your Android Phone (ie: Droid X) or any device with a Micro-HDMI (ie: Kindle Fire HD [Not Kindle Fire, only the HD version], Digital Camera) output to your HDTV via the full-size HDMI input. This cable is NOT compatible with the non-HD Kindle Fire, nor the EVO 3D or any device that only has a Micro-USB port as opposed to a Micro-HDMI port. Check with the device's manufacturer to be certain of the port specifications.
