A built-in photocell activates the motion sensor only after the sun has set or when the lights are out. The MB333 is weatherproof for year-round illumination. Tips on Operation

The MB333 motion sensor LED spotlight (white) has a photocell inside that activates the LED when it is somewhat dark to conserve battery life. This is often referred to as a "dusk-to-dawn" sensor because if it is used outdoors, it will start to work early in the evening through to the morning when it starts to get light out. It does not have to be complete darkness as the light sensor will enable the light if the detected light level is low (with a light intensity below about 3.5 lux at the light).

To test the MB333 before installation or at any time, it's recommended to put fresh batteries in and take it into a dark room. Leave the room to avoid your motion retriggering it. The light should shut off after a minute or two (the motion sensor may need time to settle immediately after putting the batteries in). When you walk into the room, the motion sensor should trigger turning the light on.
