Already one of the best values in our popular byrd line, the Cara Cara2 Lightweight has been completely reengineered to yield the new, improved Cara Cara2. Its many upgrades include a full-flat-ground blade for enhanced edge geometry and cutting performance, a Bi-Directional Textured® FRN handle that offers a superior grip and increased control, and phosphor bronze pivot washers for even smoother blade operation. Like its predecessor, it also features spine and choil jimping for precise control during use and a four-position clip that supports all possible carry configurations. Improved features at very affordable prices make the Cara Cara2 Lightweight one of the best values on the market.
The Cara Cara2, a compact and lightweight folding knife from innovative cutlery company Spyderco, has been reengineered to include a full flat-ground blade for enhanced edge geometry and cutting precision. Other updates and improvements include a proprietary Bi-Directional Textured FRN handle, for improved grip and control, and phosphor bronze pivot washers for smooth blade operation. Similar to the prior model, the Cara Cara2 retains spine and choil jimping and a four-position clip for a variety of carrying configurations. Skeletonized nested handle liners add strength while keeping weight to a minimum, and screw-together construction is both sturdy and easy to clean and maintain.
The 8Cr13MoV steel blade has a comet-shaped hole, and the jimped crosshatching alone the spine helps the thumb's grip on the top of the blade for precise, comfortable, nonslip use. A finger choil enhances the ergonomic stainless steel handle, and the mid-positioned back lock has a David Boye cut-away dent, a safety feature allowing tight gripping without accidentally releasing the lock.

Thinking beyond established knife industry practices has allowed Spyderco to introduce new innovations, including one-hand opening, serrations on a folder, and a clip to attach a knife to a pocket. Spyderco remains dedicated to researching and developing improved, better-performing materials with function and reliability, and its unique cutlery line is a result of designing ergonomic, functional tools. The company puts its new products through rigorous testing prior to release, examining edge retention with a CATRA machine, looking for rust development with Q-FOG, checking the force needed to open and close a knife, and analyzing numerous other technical details.
