Synopsis
"The First Christmas" is the story of the events leading up to the birth of Christ. It is written for children to read and for parents to read aloud to their children.

CHAPTER ONE:

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young woman named Mary. Everyone wanted to be her friend, because she was so kind and caring.

She met a young man named Joseph, who fell in love with her right away.

One evening, Joseph asked Mary to be his wife. She was happy, and said yes. Mary and Joseph invited all their friends to their wedding.

Before they could get married, though, an amazing thing happened. A real angel appeared to visit Mary.

“God loves you”, the angel said, “and He has chosen you for something very special.”

Mary was nervous. Yet, she listened to what the angel said next.

“You will be the mother of the Son of God.”, said the angel, “Of all the women in the whole world, you have been chosen to have this wonderful baby.”

“What should I name Him?”, asked Mary.

“You will love your baby very much”, replied the angel, “and you will name him Jesus.”
