Editorial Reviews:
Synopsis
If Jack were honest with himself, he would realize that he fell in love with Abby the instant he met her. But he didn't see this at the time. At first meeting he was too distracted by her physical beauty, (he ignored her obvious physical disability), to see the real person inside, even though he would be the last to admit that. And Abby's little girl, Lucy, pulled Jack's heart right out of his chest when she, in a little girl tantrum, angrily threw her spoon on the floor. So one would think this was a perfect match: never been married man and never been married woman, little girl in need of a father, and all three looking for eternal happiness. But it wasn't a perfect match. They were all emotionally challenged, and in very different ways. Before the romance had any chance of getting off the ground, Jack and Abby had to first fix themselves.

This sweet novella with its frank bedroom scenes shows us that life is hard. The puzzle pieces in a relationship must be assembled correctly before we can see the whole picture. In this tender but honest romance, we find that it takes more than just one of them to put the pieces together. It means they must face their unique problems head on before their puzzle picture finally clicks into view for both. These two soon realize a loving relationship takes real work. And sometimes that work involves more than the two people in love. It often requires the effort and cooperation of a whole family. That's what true love is really all about--the whole family. It's about loving each other, even when it hurts.
