RATTAPALLAX'S TITLE comes from a poem by Wallace Stevens, Frogs Eat Butterflies, Snakes Eat Frogs, Hogs Eat Snakes and Men Eat Hogs, and is an onomatopoeia for the sound of thunder. How do we dare perpetrate a syllable, pen, charcoal or pencil or an image through a lens on an empty page, smudge the pristine face of expectation with unintended and unforseen consequence and declare it beautiful?
