Limited run of 500 issues. Interesting Boston rag from 1990's literary scene that broke the barriers between academic and nonacademic poets and writers. Interesting read for not only the authors, but the plethora of activities available to writers in the calendar that shows what was available to writers for activities and events. Some of the same names show up over and over again in newspapers, in this and other publications. Of historical value. In this issue there is an interview with David Allen Boucher and his poetry plus the poetry of David and Donna McCollem as the Short Attention Span Poets along with a new member of the SASP's: Lee Litif. There is a Gay Pride section featuring people, just people: Eve Stern, Zee Eule and Gail Koplow of Women at the Writing Table; Alvah Howe, C.D. Collins, Eric Norris, Benjamin Bruch, Griffin Urbaniak, Ren Jender, Jeff Male, Lisa King, Mary Pierce. Reviews of books by Marc D. Goldfinger such as Tony Brown's Spirit Knows Spirit, Raffy Woolf's I Wish My Room Had a Floor. Two other review by ?: M.L. Morgan's Mother May I (Childrens Games), and Eve Stern's Whenever Wonder Knocks. The Bards of Boston section features: Meredith Korman, Emily Herman. A feature of Hope Amico's poetry. Back Page Bards: Broenwynn Detlofsen, Kate O'Brien and Alvah K. Howe. A hilarious section titled Angelo Derf, Whare Are you, which I think was a joke played on The Boston Poet by one of it's readers, complete with correspondence between The Boston Poet and "Angelo Derf." Cartoon by Mick Cusimano with a literary theme. Tribute to Allen Ginsberg, whom had died the month before with quotes from Grolier Book Shop owner Louisa Solano, UMASS Boston professor Lloyd Schwartz, Harvey Silverglate and Elsa Dorfman, and others.
