Synopsis
Masters of Spinjitzu: a new force to save the world!
Amazon.com
As season two of Lego Ninjago opens, the four ninjas have matured significantly since defeating the Great Devourer and are now focusing on the important job of training Lloyd, the new Green Ninja, to fulfill the prophecy of engaging in the ultimate battle against his father, Lord Garmadon. Kai, Jay, Zane, and Cole are still somewhat distraction-prone, but with the help of Sensei Wu and Kai's sister Nya, the ninjas are becoming increasingly focused and adept at relying on their inner strengths and one another. Lord Garmadon's power is growing, and not only because he possesses the ninjas' golden weapons. He has split from and imprisoned the Serpentine army and embarked on a new partnership with the Overlord, which affords him control of a newly awakened stone army as well as the ability to harness the power of dark matter. The ninjas collaborate in many fierce battles as preparation for Lloyd's facing his father in combat. Their journey takes them back in time to their childhoods, reunites Zane and Lloyd with some missing family members, and reveals some surprising discoveries about past relationships between Lloyd's family and Sensei Wu. In the end, Lloyd alone must face his father in order to save Ninjago City. The uncertainty lies in whether Lloyd will be strong enough, both physically and mentally, to engage and defeat his father and in what price the battle will exact from Lloyd, the other ninjas, their families, and the inhabitants of Ninjago. (Ages 7 to 12) --Tami Horiuchi
