Editorial Reviews:
Synopsis
Written in English, this book contains 14 charming Japanese folk tales for children including titles such as "The Eight Headed Dragon" - "The Jewels of the Sea" - "The Tongue-Cut Sparrow" - "The One Inch Lad", Etc. The stories are accompanied with Full Page Illustrations by Richard C Jones. From Preface by the Author: It is my hope that along with the folk tales of other lands, these stories will awaken in readers the realization that all children, in whatever country they may live, have the same love of fun and a good story. I hope, too, that, in their own way, they will help to increase among our children a feeling of respect for, and understanding of, the cultural heritages of other countries and peoples. It is in such small and simple beginnings that I rest my hopes for the creating of "one world."
