Editorial Reviews:
Synopsis
Houghton Mifflin Company, 1927. Very Good. Houghton Mifflin Company, 1927. Very Good. Amy Lowell (1874-1925) was an American poet who published her first collection in 1912. She continued with a successful career cut short by illness; she was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for poetry the year after she died. Ballads for Sale is from 1927; the sale item has a copyright page that mentions 1927 but gives no indication of a first edition. Brown paper boards bound at spine with blue cloth; paper labels on front board and spine. Binding is tight and square with no wear or soiling inside or out. Only flaw is the blue on the spine is much lighter that the blue around the hinges. There is no dust jacket with the volume, although it was published with one. 311 pages
