Synopsis
From the dust jacket: MEDITATIONS FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS grew out of the rich ministries of four pastors who lived intimately with collegians and the difficulties of their prayer life-at Wisconsin, U.C.L.A., Iowa State University, and California. Put in the language and geared to the thought-world of the student, these devotions "hit home" at the key spiritual struggles of the young Christian confronted by a host of false ideologies on the modern college or university campus.
The five major portions of the book include meditations on the Apostles' Creed, the Lenten season, and, all in all, nearly 100 different topics covering various facets of campus life and problems. Included are such interest-catching titles as "The Slide-Rule of Greatness," "Information for Incomplete Infidels," "That's-All-There-Is-There-Ain't-No-More-Ism," "Manana Morality," and "The Great Unanswered Questions."
Of special help are "A Prayer for a Deeper Spiritual Life, "Student's Prayer at the Beginning of the Week," "A Prayer Before Taking an Examination," and "A Prayer for Right Values in Life."
For the entering Freshman, the "spiritually weary" Sophomore, the perplexed Junior, the thoughtful Senior-and many alumni whose college days are not too long past-MEDITATIONS FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS is an excellent tool for a revitalized prayer life with devotions that really "talk their language."
