Editorial Reviews:
Synopsis
This is quite a complicated love story full of hardships. Anne Elliot from an aristocratic family falls in love with Frederick Wentworth, a young naval soldier, and is engaged to him. However, her father Sir Walter and her god-mother Lady Russell strongly object this engagement because Wentworth has neither fortune nor rank. Anne accepts their persuasion and break off her engagement to whom she deeply loves. Eight years later, captain Wentworth who has become wealthy during the war retires from the army and returns home. He, together with his sister and brother-in-law, become tenants of Sir Walter. Though his resentment towards Anne still remains, they have not forgotten the love between them and get married at last after all difficulties and interferences.
