In the revised form it appears for the first time in North America as a companion volume to The Asrakham Cloak, new poems by Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill with translations by Paul Muldoon. Born in 1952, she grew up in the Irish Gaelic speaking areas of West Kerry and Tipperary. She earned her degree at University College, Cork. Poet, playwright and mother of four, she has been praised as the most widely known and acclaimed Gaelic poet of the century.
