Editorial Reviews:
Synopsis
After twelve years in a troubled marriage, Aaron has had enough.

He leaves not only wife and children, but also the mining community in which he was raised. Confident in his abilities as a musician, he heads south. Then he meets another woman.

AARON'S ROD is one of Lawrence's most intensely self-revealing novels. He explores the interplay of dominance and submission in the complex relationship called "love."

David Herbert Lawrence was born in Nottinghamshire, England, in 1885. His first novel, THE WHITE PEACOCK, appeared in 1911. His books were always brilliant, always controversial. He died of tuberculosis in Venice in 1930 at the age of 44.
