Etoiles: Student's Book Bk. 1

Designed for Key Stages 3 and 4 of the National Curriculum and published jointly by BBC and Longman, "Etoiles" offers a range of multimedia resources which aim to encourage learning by capturing the interest of the students. It provides a systematic series of interest-led activities for pupils to enjoy while they learn. At each of five levels, the course comprises a student's book, teacher's book, simulation material, a resource file (including copymasters, progress records and flashcards), cassettes and a BBC School Television series. This magazine-style student's book involves pupils in fun, puzzles and fiction, and features a variety of subjects. "Etoiles" avoids hypothetical activities - like ordering food students never eat - and instead opts for activities which learners can relate to here and now. It makes extensive use of pair, group and teacher-student work involving the conveying of genuine meaning.
