In The Boy in the Moon, he introduces us to Nick, a teen with so many craters, pockmarks, and puss-filled volcanoes on his face that he considers himself an untouchable alien from the moon. It certainly doesn't help matters that--suddenly--Nick feels his knees wobble around his best friend Frieda. It also doesn't help that Kevin, his other best friend, was transformed into a remote, golden-haired sun worshipper during a summer in Los Angeles. Romantic, lively, smart--Nick is a hero for all of us. He may even find his way back to earth!
