Here the poet is talking about the modern poets who unlike conventional
poets are sharp and quick and also patient when necessary. The modern poet
takes an abstract thing and makes it organic and lively by his writing. This
is why the poet is saying saxifrage is the flower that attracts him because
it has the ability to grow even in rocks which is life less.

Two framing images in this poem are the snake and saxifrage. The snake is
a patient, but not passive, hunter, the prey comes to the snake.
Saxifrage settles in the cracks of rocks, with time and patience it cracks
the rock. The simple message is not that the song will strike you, but in
the natural order of things, let life come to you -- And, life IS the word.

I think the poet is advising the other poets to wait till the aspirations
to write a piece of poem comes to them and make the outcome sth great and
fascinating.

The Poem is about the power of slow moving things. The flower, and the
snake waiting to strike. The lantern illuminates the world

I feel the poet is showing the power of poetry versus
solid life.

The poem talks about life and opportunities in life. Someone should not be
afraid of trying something new and just enjoy everything.

Let the song strike you, is what he is saying. Take my word for it, (or
not)
