Throughout his poetry, the dear Whitman seems to find that Death itself is
not a curse, but a blessing. Let us all take that to heart and know that
the dead are in a much better position than we. It seems he would know
better than us, currently.

I believe he is telling himself in this poem to not be afraid, that he is
faithful, and that as soon as he excepts his fate and relieved of his
fears, confidence prevails him.

I cannot think of a greater affirmation for my own life ,that I find hard
