Walt Whitman is one of the best American poets. However, this poem may be
a little too heavy to start off with. Try reading "When I Heard the
Learn'd Astronomer"

Wow, after reading not even the first 2 lines of this poem, I have
concluded that Walt Whitman was a failure at life. He killed himself
becaused he can't write poetry. Even I can write poetry better than that
and I am illiterate. I had someone read the first few lines of the poem to
me and the same person is typing this comment because I am illiterate.
However, i can still write poetry. Walt Whitman was a homosexual who never
found a sexual partner, only Herman Melville to whine to all day about the
world. This "poet" should be taken off of the website immediately or
someone will most likely crash this entire website.
