Although Thoreau was a spiritually enlightened individual, the poem
expresses his need to fulfill his words though his actions. Also, to be
happy with himself as well as please others. Lastly, he expresses that he
is not ignorant to God's plan, but he is also not overratting his.... well,
designs.

I think that this poem is telling how the poet loves god. it left me with a
warm heart because i too love god. God is love. love is god. meow.
