    Wow, and I was just reading “In the Desert”, which is also from Black Riders. Seems like S. Crane was sensitive to the darkness of humans and their oblivion to the relevence of it.

    One of the most overlooked and greatest poems of Cranes writings. For it not only leaves the reader contemplating about the brief lines but also connects its theme to many of his other writings on death, confrontation, and fear.
