Analysis and comments on Epilogue by Robert Lowell

Comment 1 of 1, added on September 24th, 2009 at 6:35 PM.

I have a recording of Robert Lowell reciting this poem. I have always seen
the 9th line from that poem written as follows:
"with the threadbare art of my eye"
However, in the recitation of this poem by Robert Lowell, he rendners that
line as follows:
"with dim eyes and threadbare art"
which, to my ears anyway, has a much better flow to it than what seems to
be the official version.
