i truly dissagree with those who think this poem is gothic. Its more about
the dispair of Poe. Grief is an emotion that doesn't really wan't to leave.
Just like the raven wouldn't leave.

This poem is one of great sincerity by Poe, one that is a very personal
topic that he shared with the world. His thoughts and emotions are
presented in this wonderful piece of literary gold. All the symbolism in
it, the wonderful imagery, all provides an insight into every person's own
soul. By the way, I personally believe that nearly every symbolic object
or character in this story is multi-faceted, it does not have just one
meaning. Look at the Raven. A symbol of Grief, Death, Knowledge, the
phases of Life, all of these. Also, those who say this poem is garbage,
terrible, his worst, they present themselves as not understanding it. Why
do they believe this poem is so bad? Explain it please. Phillip, 16 years

i pesonally and absulutaly loved tis poem.. although the first time that I
read i didn't exctly understand it. my literature teacher read it to us and
then i looked it up on the internet. and when i read it by myself i LOVED
it.. i have seen the simpson's version and i didn't like it.

this poem is the best to me and i really dont know why it just make me and
my friend feel sad about stuff and it is a great poem to any one who reads
it... or it should be...

i find this poem very complicated to understand, you have to read this poem
several times to realise the meanings. when i read it several times i
slowly understood it and enjoyed reading it. i also had to look up lots of
words to help me understand it.

I think this poem was really cool the different comments helped me
understand it better and i really like what the poem had to say it was very
interesting to think about the way that this man's mind worked and how he
saw in the raven an omen of his lost love its almost crazed how much
thought he put into the writing of the poem so that you almost feel like
you're talking to him about the experience instead of reading it in a poem.
I would read it a few times if i were you its truly great

I agree with Jessica. I always feel so sad when an artist isnt acknowledged
until after his death. I looooooove this poem. I read it all the time. This
is my absolute favorite. Its great to see other people share my love for

I'm in the 8th grade and was required to read "The Raven". At first I
understood nothing about the poem...but after my teacher explained some of
it and pointed out certain details I realized what he was saying. I've
never saw the Simpsons version of the Raven but if someone happens to have
