thank's for writing this inspiring poem...the young youth of today are not

This is my favorite Longfellow poem. Being from Longfellow's hometown -
Portland, Maine - I can picture all the places he describes. I see this
poem as more of a tribute to Portland than yearning for the past.

It is a romantic longing for something that cannot be recalled or
