Analysis and comments on Hiawatha's Fasting by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Comment 3 of 3, added on March 31st, 2008 at 8:30 PM.

I think the story was great and every little detail of the story is
included. I would give this 2 thumbs-up. This story was unpredictable. I
also liked the part because he did not make the story to depressing or to
happy. He kept a tone and wrote in the same tone all the way through.

i think that your story is the best because from the other one i read it
thought that yours was the best. The story that you wrote is the most
interesting article i have ever read because you talked about different
animals and it seemed very interesting than the other ones.

I think that this poem is well written, because it has a lot of emotion in
it. I like how Longfellow describes the surroundings of Hiawatha, since
they are very detailed and include words that we normally do not use in the
English language. I also like how Longfellow does not make the poem as sad
as it could be. There is a very good ending. Longfellow hid the morals very
well, but he expresses them very often, such as repeating something he had
said earlier. The poem does not rhyme, but the words are arranged so
perfectly that the poem makes sense even not rhyming. I liked this poem,
but I didn't like how Longfellow didn't describe as much of what was what
and who was who. I had to figure that out myself and think about what they
meant. Other than that, this poem is really good. I would give it a rating
of 4.5 stars out of 5 stars.
