Don’t you posters get it? This poem is about slaves knowing about sunrise and sunset because of working in the fields. It’s neither cool, sweet, or pleasant for them to rise at sunrise.

This one sure “spoke to my condition” as the Quakers say. I have been walking with the sunrise almost every morning for years…It supports me through the tough times of family disfunction, middle age, career loss, and a persistent depressive disorder. Life is All!
This poem was short but sweet I realy enjoy his poetry.
