Poem probably indicates life which comes to the end (death). Life is compared to a leaf which is falling into fountain when it is dead.

oh, thank you for pointing this one out. I can't stand Ezra Pound but this one actually makes perfect sense to me.

but it's 8-6-7 so no, not a haiku. lol.
