I just read a translation of this poem in Dutch ( by Gert jan de Vries in
the volume '500 gedichten die iedereen gelezen moet hebben').Maybe because
part of it is already written in double dutch the poem stays very powerful
after being translated. Powerful enough to make me try to find the original
text. The poem gives me energy to fight and survive the winter in stead of
just going for a wintersleep. I don't know if that's what its meant to be,
but that is what it is to me. God bless America for having great poets like
Ezra Pound!

well, ezra, sinc i was just reading that you grew up in wyncote and attended
the University of Pennsylvania this poem makes a whole lot more sense !!
now it is evident to me you have waited for a bus on the streets of philly
after a snowstorm when the snow has melted and turned into that
particularly nasty form of brownish slush i have only seen there. write on
,mr. pound !!!

I was wondering, is this poem copyrighted? I am a composer and i have
written a setting of this poem. I was looking to obtain permision to use
this poem, but i haven't been able to find any copyright info.
