a sepal, petal and a thorn........2 soft and beautiful things like sepal and petal co-exist with the painful/struggle/the thorn...this the paradox of life......the summer image is idyllic...the dew is abundant..that is why she says flask...the bees are there for the sound...so is the breeze and the rustle of the word caper...a few lines but so much imagery...and she ends by saying she is a rose...as beautiful...as charming...as eternal.

This poem is about how the world sees her. She is nice to look at, but people are afraid to get too close least they prick themselves on her thorny exterior. She is alone, but not nesecarily unhappy about the situation.
