Analysis and comments on Her little Parasol to lift by Emily Dickinson

Comment 1 of 1, added on January 6th, 2008 at 6:28 PM.

Ms.Dickinson is one of the most enigmatic of poets for all time. Who is the
"she" in this poem? What is the meaning of the parasol? I haven't
researched her notes for a clue, but I think it is a symbol for the power
to defend oneself against the elements of our human frailties. She is a
girl, and she is a woman---strong in her fallability. Then, perhaps I am
without a clue!
