Analysis and comments on The name -- of it -- is "Autumn" -- by Emily Dickinson

Comment 1 of 1, added on March 20th, 2006 at 9:12 PM.

the name--of it-- is Autum. Have you ever though that it could mean her
minstral cycle? or after Autum there is winter wich could in fact be the
clensing? there are many things that that could mean. I as a young
woman have to ponder on the thought, on whether it was the clensing or her
minstral cycle. But I can't help but to think, that maybe in the spring
everything is fresh and new and a time for "re-birth" and in the summer is
a time for conservitude, Wich autum is the time for deth and getting rid of
un-wanted things and winter is the cleansing an purity of her body. Wright
me and tell me what you think.
