A Mighty Afternoon --
Great Clouds -- like Ushers -- learning --
Creation -- looking on --

The Flesh -- Surrendered -- Cancelled --
The Bodiless -- begun --
Two Worlds -- like Audiences -- disperse --
And leave the Soul -- alone --

Poet: Emily Dickinson Poem: 524. Departed -- to the Judgment -- Volume: Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson Year: Published/Written in 1955 Poem of the Day: Dec 10 2011 Comment 2 of 2, added on April 17th, 2005 at 10:41 PM. Personally, I love all of Emily's works (those I have read). This poem is no exception. The decription and imagery her writtings conjure are truely incredible. Excellent Job yet again Emily (and yes I am aware she is not among the mortal, Check out "She died- this was the way she died" Light from United States Comment 1 of 2, added on April 17th, 2005 at 10:41 PM.
