I was named after Emily Dickinson, and I love all her poems, but this is
definetly one of my favorites!

This poem was actually set by Aaron Copland as one of the '12 Poems of
Emily Dickinson' for voice and piano, written in 1950. Others include
'Heart, we will forget him' and 'Why do they shut me out of Heaven?' Some
were later orchestrated as mentioned.

The Great American Composer Aaron Copland used this poem, along with 7
others as inspiration for music he composed for voice and chamber orchestra
sometime between 1958 and 1970.
