Volume: Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson Year: Published/Written in 1955 Poem of the Day: May 7 2005 Comment 2 of 2, added on June 23rd, 2010 at 11:23 AM. The verse she referenced is 1 Corinthians 1:15, "so that no one can say you were baptized in my name", according to the Catholic Youth Bible. Just in case you wanted to know what she ment. I like the tone of this poem, and I can imagine her reciting it in an optomistic rebutting sort of voice.
