to understand this poem, you must start reading it at humble. the girl in the poem is seen as a humble and quiet person. the next stanza explains what she feels on the inside. she lives in noworld and she is sad because she is silent. when the girl is asleep (inside the parenthesis) she dreams of being a person larger than herself. she sees herself as a new person, girlgold, someone worthy of something. she still feels small, but larger of smallsih, and feels powerful, despite the fact that her power is of people like herself. thats basically the idea.
