I think this poem is symbol of the deep love of a flower. wee is a latin word defined by the root word weaa which means beauty. Ee cummings wrote many poems about spring, flowers, and love (see "somewhere i have never traveled and when serpents bargain for the right to squirm). His deep love for flowers can be shown by the use of the latin root and by the balloon man. A balloon man can always be seen in spring floating around the rose bushes with his array of balloons.

After I read e.e. cummings's poem I felt happy when he described the children leaving their favorite activities. However, then I realized he was saying only once in a life's season we are innocent children (in Just-spring). But then we idealistically go out into the world and deal with the indifferences, injustices, and trajedies including death that adult life brings. Allow all children to enjoy their childhood because it's only for a springtime of their life.
