Lost:
I lost the voice; I am now dumb,
Whisper in jail of throat and the tongue,
Air and the wind are growing numb,
Rays of the eyes strolling along
Hills and across barren prairies
And soaring above shallow blue seas.
I lost the dream long, long ago
Dream of the bird song and the nest
Dancing to wind and to the crow
To joyful peasants as they harvest
Tears and the blood in harshest fields
And scatter around tomorrow’s seeds.
