What beautiful emotion this author must have felt! I really believe that
he intertwined the love of someone special he once knew with where love all
began, God. The bud of the bud is creation, it all started with Him.
There is no greater love than that of God. I feel intense emotion when I
read this poem, although I've never really been very much into poems. Of
course I cry every time I hear Cameron Diaz read it in "In Her Shoes."
This poem has given me the desire to read more . . .

This I listened to this poem the first time in my life. It is part of the
last scene of the movie "In den Schuhen meiner Schwester" ("In Her Shoes")
as probably all of you know.
I was thinking of my sister living far away, of my mum who has past away a
couple of years ago, of all my family and the ways we live and - I couldn't
help crying for this poem says exactely what I feel.

For any who took what I said and thought about it I appreicate now as for
poetry you can't just read it and analysis, paraphrasis, or critizize it
you have to feel what the arthor felt when he wrote it. That is how you
truly read poetry.

Love is a four letter word what it means is more important than anything
though. So why is this?Because it is the feeling we get when we are truly so
deep in feelings that we can't deny, so when you say I love you truly mean
what you say and don't let it be just another four letter word.

The imagery is not complicated--the Tree of Life was in the Garden of Eden.
It is a biblical symbol for eternal life in a perfect world and close to
the heart of God. The very essence of the best there is in life is found
in unfailing love--the bud of the bud. Yes, it goes beyond death. It is
the reason and purpose for everything good. We carry those we love in our
hearts forever. Real love produces life, hope, joy, and all that is
beautiful. It is a secret that few understand because so many look
happiness and meaning in life in the wrong places. But, love is not
self-seeking; it gives and protects. Read 1 Corinthians 13 to see the
nature of unconquerable and resilient eternal love. We were made in God's
image. He is love, and love is so perfect that it can be carried inside
and become our reason and our purpose, too. It is the essence of real

Oh how I love this poem! And the true inner meaning of love..carrying it
where ever you go. No matter how far holding it as one. And soon becoming
together to love and be as one. This is an all time favorite!! The bonding
and coming close is such a nice and touching truth beneath...

I have always loved this poem. It's universal. Straight from the heart and
can be adapted for a friend, family member, or signifigant other. Pledging
to someone that no matter where you go or what you do they are never far
from the very root of yourself. That because of the bond that you have with
this person they will forever be carried with you in heart and in mind.
Such an excellent writer.

The amount of comments posted over this poem is amazing. I, too, am a fan
of this poem. It's simple, delivered form of saying how special someone is
to someone else is touching. For those people who commented earlier on how
they couldn't understand what the poem meant; I believe they are just
looking too hard. Not everything needs to be analyzed to death. Just take
the words for what they are saying. If you are lucky enough to feel
something special when you hear it, you have been blessed.
