i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

It's deffinately one way to steal a womans heart. He was encouraged at a young age to be creative and was later Harvard educated. His methods for writing follow no traditional guidelines in the sense of punctuation or capitalizing. e.e. cummings is without a doubt a difficult person to understand. In his poem i carry your heart with me he uses metaphorical statements to compare a girl’s beauty to the world, the moon, and the sun. Cummings distinct style of free verse poetry and non capitalization are key components of his poetry. Cummings also wrote many of his poems about love, which is the case here. He writes about love so much because his first true love in a marriage was a disastrous stint that only lasted for nine months before he was abandoned and divorced. Cummings was left with the root of the root, the bud of the bud, and after the divorce had nowhere to place his love, but inside his very own heart.
