A Night in Downtown Dallas (Coldhearted)
A single sheet of bluish haze transposed for stars above my city.
What once was green, is gray. Empty towers. Long shadows. Rats
I cannot see are scuttering down the alleys, picking their way
through puddles past a coat that keeps a heart from winter.
I slip past the huddled mass and hope there is no child, too.
