The World without CasserolesBe afiard. The breakdown of civilizationis at
the hands of our well-meaning,overly thrifty,spoon-wielding mothers.Be very
afiard. They are entranced by spicesand covering condiments, pepper and
powder, onion and garlic galore.Gingerly they add cumin and dill, cinnamon,
nutmeg or cloveswith thyme to add sage and curry, parsley, paprika and
allspice.Their casseroles becomezombie foodas the deadreanimates. These
cheese-added monsters, hungry for mystery-meat,render brains to mushand bind
our bowels. They stiffen our gaitwith numbness and nauseauntil we are
rendered victimsof another pepto-pandemic.And in the nightof the living
dead, feeding us saltin a casserole apocalypse,we panicked victims becomethe
casseroles we consume.Paralyzed in fearby the lightof the open
