9/3/09: I once read a very interesting and profound poem about a man who
worked at a concentration camp in Germany. I can't remember much about it
except that it said that at the end of the day while this man walked home
with the smells of the camp upon him he would stop to buy chocolate for his
own children.
If anyone knows the title and author of this poem please post it in a
comment here.

This is a pretty interesting poem that I have been learning for a while.
My analysis of this poem is basically refering to someone who is 'lost'.
Boat=Child it is a metaphor.When a child is lost he cries for his mother.
The Harbor's breast might refer to a mothers breast. It supports the child
by nourishing him. The harbor supports the boat...The harbors eyes, might
refer to a light house...the boat is scared and trying to find safety and
comfort of the harbor just like a child lost and trying eagerly to find hi
mother...I don't know...This is how interpret it...

Lost by Carl Sandburg is a very powerful exert. It doesn't only paint a
picture of being lost but also makes you (reader) feel the frightening
feeling of being lost. Don't you agree?

something about being on the water in the dark is supernatural. sandburg
really captures that spooky feeling.

I really like this poem it really sohws how he feels. And it shows he has

i think the poem lost really show his vast thinking side really one of his
early works, since then if you look at his other work it's far superior.
But indeed I have nothing wrong to say about the poem Lost.

I interpret it as he is trying to say that being alone can be scary. It can
give you a feeling of not knowing where you are or what is going on and
make you be afraid. but i probably suck at interpreting poetry, whatever

so, for my english poem, i chose to do Carl Sandburg becasue i liked the
name not even knowing who he was. but once i found this poem, it makes me
want to learn more about him. this poem means to me that he was alone on
one day and he heard a lot of noises and was still all alone.
