I think that your mood is proper codnrseiing the proximity of anniversaries and what you have been reading. I agree with knifecakes that the Sillmarilion is a good read. However, at a time when I was just recovering from losses worse than I ever thought I could survive, its opening passages opened unexpected floodgates. Probably more about me than the book.At least be sure to finish the appendices to LOTR and that very very very last moment when They went in, and Sam shut the door, but even as he did so, he heard suddenly, deep and unstilled, the sigh and murmur of the Sea upon the shores of Middle-earth.
