Steve Kowit (1938 - Present)

Steve Kowit was born in Brooklyn in 1938. He is the author of several books of poetry and has published a guide to writing poetry: In the Palm of Your Hand.

Kowit received a B.A. degree from Brooklyn College, a Master of Arts degree from San Francisco State College, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Warren Wilson College. He teaches at Southwestern College in Chula Vista and lives near the Tecate Mexican border.
