The Layers

I'm not sure how religious that Mr. Kunitz is but this poem has undertones
of both the book of Romans, particularly Chapter 8, and 1 Corinthians.

How magnificent this perspective, allowed only to the aged. The profundity
exceeds the symbolism. This is an eternal human song!

what a wonderful reflection full of sadness and full of the simple act of
continuing to face the future with strength in the face of so much loss.God
bless Stanley Kunitz who has reached 100 years of age.
