This was a wonderful poam!I thought of me when I read this poem. I liked it
so much that I am going to recite it, memorized, in front of my 6th grade
class. And say it was written by my favorite author, Shel Silverstein!!!!!

It was helpful to me for my project on Portrey. I had to find two poems
that had something in common and this one matched perfectly to another one
I had. Thanks!

This poem is different from others. It shows that things can be enjoyable
and interesting even if it's simple. Simple things can be beautiful. A poem
doesn't have to squeeze your mind to the fullest to be considered a good

I think everybody is looking way too deep in Shel's poetry. If the reader
wants to put in their intrepretation, that's great but that doesn't mean
Shel put in "hidden meanings". He was a whimsical and in this case
CHILDREN's poet although open minded adults can also enjoy his work.
However, they shouldn't expect Shel to have morals to all his poem, they
are simply fun and meant to be silly.

OH canada our home and native land, true patriot love in all our sons
command with glowing hearts we see thee rise the true north strong and free
from far and wide oh canada we stand one guard for thee god keep our land
glorious and free oh canada we stand on guard for thee oh canada we stand
on guard for thee... you suck AMERICA
