Analysis and comments on Glass by Robert Francis

Comment 2 of 2, added on November 14th, 2008 at 6:35 PM.

Was introduced to this poem in a retiree's Renaissance Society's seminar on
20th century poetry. One of the loveliest poems I've read on the subject of
What is poetry? (I've read many!)
Apparently we were reading a typo on line 6--"Embossed glass hides the poem
or its absence." The "or" should be "of" and there's the difference. One is
poetry; the other, prose.
See the Tao Te Ching number 11.
